I am writing this post to inform you that I will be changing my name/alias to ‘SpiritFox’ for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it is a name which I used long ago, as a teenager when I was starting out with tarot and paganism and so I still feel that youthful and positive energy attracted to it.
Secondly, I find that I receive a lot of emails asking me if I am otherkin of a kitsune, because of the name of the blog. Although I do not have any problems with this, I feel like those people may be misunderstanding the purpose of this blog. It was established to write about Inari-Okami, paganism and tarot, not to talk about kitsune folklore and such. I do enjoy reading and talking about kitsune of course, but it is not the main focus here at all. I feel that ‘Fox of Inari’ may indicate to some that I believe I am literally a fox of Inari. I know that people could still read ‘SpiritFox’ the same way, but hopefully not as much.
Finally, I find SpiritFox more ambiguous as to what topics I may talk about, and as this blog was never intended to JUST be about Inari-Okamisama and Shinto, but paganism and nature-based faiths of all kinds, I feel the name suits me better.
I will be changing my URL to spiritfox.co.uk as soon as I can afford the domain mapping, but I will still have foxofinari redirect here until it expires next year.
I hope everyone understands and thank you so much for reading!
